The GLPMTS offers a unique and essential training opportunity that provides motorcycle riders with the skills and knowledge to safely operate motorcycles. This is especially important for police motorcycle officers during the course of their duties. The seminar allows officers from across North America to come together to train and learn in a safe and encouraging environment.

Seminar goals include:

  • Establish and promote safe motorcycle riding skills within the police community

  • Promote awareness of the police motorcycle officer in the public arena as a safe, responsible motorcycle rider

  • Establish a cohesive fraternity and encourage kinship in the law enforcement motorcycle community

  • Support local and regional charities affiliated with the police community

For over 20 years the seminar has provided this vital training while raising tens of thousands of dollars for charity.  In 2021 the Ontario Police Memorial will be the primary charitable recipient.

Welcome to the 2021 Great Lakes Police Motorcycle Training Seminar (G.L.P.M.T.S.).

On behalf of the Waterloo Regional Police Service, the Region of Waterloo, and the City of Cambridge, we would like to welcome motor officers and civilian riders from across North America.  The 2021 event will be slightly different from previous years' events, but we are in slightly different times as well.  We will still be educating riders from all different skill levels and improving their abilities, but we will maintain and follow the Covid-19 guidelines and regulations set out by Public Health, the Region of Waterloo and the Province of Ontario.

From motor officers looking to focus their skills, to civilian riders that have never taken a training course, we have what you are looking for.

Through in-depth training from highly skilled motorcycle instructors, riders of all skill levels will find themselves improving throughout the event.

Whether you are looking to learn new skills, drop bad habits, improve your riding ability, or exchange best practices with old friends; we are sure you will become a safer rider.

Specific Skills Training for 2021

  • Collision Avoidance

  • Emergency Braking

  • Reading and Anticipating other Traffic around you.

We look forward to seeing you August 21-22 2021.
